CD-Key Error! Ref: 204 Can't register Game on Impulse...

Hello,

my English isn't very well, but I have a Issue, about the registration of Sins of a Solar Empire.

I have bought the Game at Amazon and now I want to play online, so I have installed Impulse, and want to install the patch, now I must register my game, but there comes the following message:

 

Product Registration Failed: The E-Mail Address or Serial Number you entered is invalid. Check you make sure you entered the correct information. (ref: 204)

I have entered the key over 20 times... and I have write to the support, but there came only a generated answer.

I don't know what I'm going to do now....

If you've been issued a ticket ID for your support email, they'll get back to you within the next couple of days (the office is closed today). Only support can address registration issues.

I'm having the exact same problem, I also purchased from Amazon. The game keeps crashing after about an hour, I figured I'd DL the latest patch and see if that fixes the problem. To bad my key is being recognized as invalid, I tried every permutation caps, no caps, dashes, no dashes, 0's and O's. Seriously pissed right now, if I was just going to toss $40 down the drain I'd rather give it to charity, than a game developer that can't release a working product.

Well, phatpat63...have you contacted support? Also did you buy a used copy?

I have kind of like the same problem, although i bought the game directly from impulse.

I can register the game.. over and over again, but when i try to update.. impulse just tells me to register yet again....

Also.. the impulse client didnt want to update by itself.. had too look around untill I found the complete version to reinstall with. But but still no luck with my game registration.

I am verry, verry annoyed.

jhedmo, your account looks to be in good order so you should be able to update without issue. If you still have trouble, try closing Impulse and running the following file:

http://sd.stardock.com/curthendzell/fix_registrations.reg

Make sure to follow the link in Internet Explorer, as other web browsers will not handle the file type correctly.  Once you follow the link, save the file and double click it to apply it.  Then relaunch Impulse.  You will need to re-login with your username/e-mail (either will work) and password. Once logged in again, try to update. If you still have trouble, please contact us at [email protected]

iv tried all this and nothing works i had the same error asjfedmo and the dowload didnt work on my computer i got a notepad also when my uncle sighns in as me on his computer since we both own the game he can update and everything works fine

You may have already done this, but have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling in case something got messed up the first time?  Happens to me occasionally that my issues were just me needing a reinstall of the program in question.
