Reequiping\Soverign Gear.

Does anyone else think the Soverign, Heroes and the Sov's offspring should be able to be reequiped?

I think it should cost points in soverign construction to give them gear beyond basic clothing because if they say have platemail armor it must be a relic of the old times as no one can make it anymore and therefore it should cost afew points but also be better then the average platemail as well as having the ability later to reequip the soverign and children heroes etc. for a cost of production *time of forging* as well as coin also enabling us to give them equipment Superior to the average soldiers.

Along the same lines, it would be cool if we could create magic armor/weapons/trinkets at the cost of points.

Additionally, magical gear like, say, a Cuirass of One Thousand Souls, should be able to be equipped. Honestly it would be kind of cool if all champion's gear was handled piecemeal and objectively rather than a one-time abstraction like normal soldiers ... or to allow for a re-equippage of the abstraction at least.

The only problem I forsee is that your Sov has Magic Plate +1, and you want to equip Magic Plate +3. After you equip the +3 youll probably want that Plate +1 available for another champion. This is why I think special items and CHampion equipment should be kept in some global "storage bin" when not in use.

Sure, I could forsee a problem of two Champions on opposite ends of the globe constantly switching out gear with each other ... but honestly I think thats the exact point of abstraction that I want. A global resoviour of items, so item's don't get lost in some complex mechanic. The only alternative I see is for each city to have a separate bin, so if you are out roaming around, you use the bin of the City you own that is closest to you. In this way, there is still a significant lack of micromanagement, and gear availability is more regional.

I suppose I might prefer the separate city system, but I would prefer the Global bin rather than not having anything at all, so this is my prime suggestion (the global bin).

Use the system of Tasunke but make it require mana or essence to transfer items to champions calculated on their distance make it a magical spell of transmission available to all sovs. *its done through equipment screen but handled like a spell*.

Balance/realism error solved.

I was totally thinking the same thing...we'll see if the rest of the team is in agreement.

We're implementing the 'Store' stuff in one of the upcoming betas...youre heroes will have lost of equipment options then :)

Ah ... Then I'd rather have it be a mana cost than an essence cost. And hopefully a small enough amount of mana that it takes less time to regenerate than it would to walk to the nearest city and back (at least as small as 50% the time for slow rechargers).

Tasunke: Absolutly...just a little 2mp cost that probably wont even hurt. It'd simply be a way to aleviate(sp) the tedium of requiring unit's to be near each other to swap items (which is still a feature we need, but we have it on the list).
