[.295][Bug/Gameplay] Beta 1G Bug in Crystal shrine access

In a recent game a city of mine was able to build an Earth crystal-harnessing building that was four squares from the town center on the world map, but once the structure was completed, I did not have access to the Earth element, according to my spell caster and the spell purchasing page.

 

Building a new town adjacent to the building immediately fixed this, although the building remained a part of the previous town.  Surely this isn't the intended order of things. :)

The game "need" some time before you can use your spells. Often you have the resources, but have to wait a turn or two to be able to cast the spell. Don't know why.

No, waiting turns didn't work.  I waited a couple of turns, then a few more while the Sov went to the square to start the new town.  As I remember it, it was mid-turn, right after he started the new town, that I had access to the shard in order to cast the proper spells.

I got the problems with raise swamp and summon fire giant. The turn I got the needed shards I couldn't cast the spell. I deselect/reselect sov but didn't work. It's only a few turns later that I could really cast those spells. Don't know why I finally could.

I'll try to replicate the problem and try waiting more time, but like I said, many turns passed, at least a half dozen, probably a dozen.

Possible reasons - you need time to accumulate mana, and you can't cast spells if you have zero essence.  The spellcasting system is still confusing to me, but at least when trying to cast the healing spell I found those two condidtions to be true.

Your essence is your max mana.

If you have 0 essence you won't be able to cast any spells because you would have 0 mana.
