Just had the same problem while I was playing a Huge random map.  Runtime error popped up after about 2 hrs of playing.  On Diplomacy 1.01

This is has been an issue ever since Sins first came out and, to my knowledge, there isn't a fix for it (Which shocks me beyond all reason). If anyone would like to prove me wrong please do! ^_^

It sounds like your hitting the 2 GB limit. Have you reduced your settings? Also have to try to verify your installation with Impulse? If you got a bad download or something it should find it.

You can also try to uninstall everything. Delete any left over folder/flies. Then reinstall.

LOL, another question. Did you have the demo before you installed the full game?

I also got a runtime error the first time I played Diplomacy on Win 7.  This is apparently caused by the "2-Gig Wall" problem mentioned elsewhere in the Tech Forum.  I applied the "Large Address Aware" fix found here, and so far the game's been working fine; no crashes.  Hopefully it'll work for you as well.
