Well, I suppose (sans lore) that there could be a time of strife in kingdoms and empire. Where civil war breaks out and the quest for supremacy is accomplished. Then, at the end of it all there was one large kingdom to rule them all, and one large empire to rule them all. Even then, with all power consolidated, there can only be one!
Regardless for the potential of peace, the Empire and Kingdom waged a war for superiority. The entire earth shook as the very land was transformed. Great Dragons and other beasts clashed over armies of epic proportions.
The final battle was a massive one, Channeler vs Channeler. This was a battle of more devastation than the entire war combined. Spells, counterspells, traps, time-shifts, dominations, The sky burned with fire, the earth opened up and ate legions, the air was electrified with the arcane ethers. It only took a spark, and the entire field was smote to dust. Only those with magic shielding, and a few monsters, survived the battle. While the remnants of the armies were either quagmired, routing, or dazed and confused, the channelers tore at full pace against each other. All mana spent, the final battle would be decided in melee. Their battle lasted for hours ... and finally it was decided who would be destroyed, and who would be the victor.
