Civ 4-style selection of units and movement around the map?
The way you guys do it for Elemental- where you have to hold the mouse button, to move the map- not really a fan of that. I'd rather have mouse button be used to select units, with a hotkey to cycle between units.
Basically, what I want is to be able to move my map by moving the mouse without clicking on the mouse button
I then want to select units by left clicking on them.
The way it's done in elemental is somewhat clunky to me.
I think what he means is he wants to move the map by moving the cursor to the edge of the screen (just like in every RTS). That way he is then free to click + drag with the mouse to select multiple units at once.
Brad I know what he means. You know how Elemental has a zoom to where the mouse is with the middle mouse button right... but what he wants and sure I wouldn't mind having it too, when I put my mouse at the edges of the screen it pans my view. When my mouse is all the way on the left side of the screen to pans left, etc....
Basically having both would be great!
I believe they're planning on eventually adding this feature (moving the map by moving the mouse to the edge of the screen), it just hasn't been put in yet -- I'll poke around and see if I can find where I read that.
Edge scrolling has been in for quite some time--make sure you're in fullscreen mode (you may also need to tweak the scroll speed in the options).
