Sins of a Solar Empire - Trinity

File downloaded is larger than expected

Trying to download Sins of a Solar Empire and I get the error "file downloaded is larger than expected".

I have reloaded Impulse, I have retried a number of times, I have tried "downloading and archiving" but still same error.

The error log reads

I have reported it to support and guess will just have to wait for an answer.

Each attempt is using 1G of download and I am on a limited plan which is rapidly being eaten up.

I have serious doudts about using this service again unless this resolved soon.

Download larger than expected errors are generally related to security software interfering with the download. If you have such software, please try adding Impulse.exe as an exclusion within it.

Alternatively, Sins Trinity can be downloaded via Impulse Anywhere.

If you're still having a problem downloading through Impulse despite using Gargabee's recommendation to add an exclusion, since you have a limited amount of bandwidth, I'd suggest just even disabling your security app(s) temporarily while the download is going.

Although you will still want to use Impulse for upgrading, Impulse Anywhere might be your best bet though. This download method basically allows you to direct download the full game and installer to your computer using your web browser of choice.
