Just thought everyone should know.

Wow I totally missed that. I'm still not used to these forums apparently. ![]()
I removed my link...
Don't worry, it happens. I don't think that's the best place to put the external link but once you know it goes there it becomes easy to spot. ![]()
I always throw in a link my posts so no one needs to look for the external link. I find that things gets less confusing that way.
To be honest, I wasn't really looking forward to elemental until I read that inteview. For one I thought it was going to be a single player only game like GalCiv2. For another, I didnt realize it was going to be so customizable and moddable. My third qualm with the game was that I didnt like the stylistic graphics in a psuedo cartoon rendering.
BUT the part about dynasties and multiple generations and stuff like that really peaked my interest. Genetics systems, max zoom out/in, and customization tools along with a mention of multiplayer (as long as I can play with a friend or 3, I am happy... wish galciv2 had it) has made this a game that I will likely preorder. Further, Brad's AI expertise at work along with allowing others to mod it makes this very intriguing. Definitely looking forward to this now!
Please tell me that the final text hasn't been entered yet. I suffered a mild attack when I looked at the screenshot for the "Rain of Fire" spell and saw that the text entry has no fewer than six grammatical/syntactic errors in it. I know, it's probably just because I'm an English teacher, but still. Six? In three sentences?
I think it's safe to presume that the final product will be proofed a bit. That being said, remember that this game is being built to be very accessible to modders. Therefore it is likely that you can fix any grammatical errors to your hearts content.
Anyone here who's in the Beta and also a member on Gamespot should take part in the conversation about the game going on in the "Comments" below that article. A lot of people I've seen post aren't sure what to make of Elemental and aren't sure it'll capture that "MoM" feeling. I've been defending Elemental and I know a few people will now be picking up the game because of one of my comments. They're dying to hear from people who are in the Beta now.
I signed up there to try to contribute but apparently it requires a level 3 account just to leave a comment, so I won't be able to comment. Just get them here and I'm sure we'll lure them in.
Level 3 account? Never heard of that, I have a free account. Sure you were trying to leave a comment in the right place?
I remember when our the client called about the manual of one of the applications we worked on about if we could change some of the screenshots. Apparently they contained testing data. Like "Lorem Ipsum", "lol", "aaaaaaaaaaaaiojjipwwqr"...![]()
LOL, so many typos in the Rain of Fire description, but typing grate instead of great makes me think that the person who wrote it isn t a native english speaker.
For whatever reason, almost all artists I've ever met have bad spelling. Must be conflicting sides of the brain being used or something. ![]()
I blame the imposed constrains of the shape of the words upon the creativity of artits trying to express their internal world. Or might be, they are paid to paint, not to write. ![]()
