Birthday and Engagement

This weekend has been a celebratory weekend for me.  My husband and I have been having such a great time celebrating with people that we love for different reasons.  One of the reasons we were celebrating this weekend is because it was my mom's birthday on Friday.  She turned 61 years old!  She's a 15 year breast cancer survivor, so every birthday of hers is a big deal for us. 

We wanted to spoil her this year to show how much we love her and love that she is surviving and winning her battle with cancer. The presents we got her this year were a 52" HDTV, a Mac computer, Disguise for Eyes, a Mcklein laptop bag for her new computer, and some of this that she wanted. She started crying when she was done opening her presents because she was so taken back by how much we got her.  You see, most years she wont let us spend any money on her birthday presents, so I end up just showing her a cute video on YouTube like this one.  This year I went ahead and showed it to her because its so cute and I knew she would love it.

And then last night my husband and I went to celebrate two of our best friends' engagment.  The got engaged on Friday morning!  We knew it was coming because we actually helped pick out the ring!  We had breakfast with them that morning and had them tell us the whole story and it was such a cute engagement story.  But we wanted to take them out to dinner to celebrate, so that's what we did.  Today is more low key, but I have to go get some work done.
