Pre Order Beta Problem

I preordered the game and did not receive a beta key. Only an order #. Do I have to wait for the next beta phase? If so will I be emailed a beta key?

Thanks.

Hello,

I and others have also pre-ordered and I believe we need to wait for beta 2 at which point we'll be contacted (and charged).  Beta 1 is currently scheduled to run 'well into february'.

However, we do have an opportunity to get in earlier as described in the December status report https://forums.elementalgame.com/372152

Yup. Orders are simply queued and not processed until the next opening.

That sucks.  I pre-ordered the game because i thought the access to the beta was granted upon preordering, as it is not stated that we will get in when a next phase starts. =( I wish there was a post stating when this will happen...

You will be able to join at the start of Beta 2. I think this is suppose to happen around Feb24th of this year. Wouldn't count on it as it is taking a while to get all the kinks worked out. Hope for Feb24. One more thing. You will be beta testing on the cloth map. No real graphics running. I think they did this so only people serious about the game will want to test it.

Weird because I preordered for two other reasons... one because I am following the game, and two because I wish to show my faith in Stardock.

Beta is a bonus, or as the devs keep saying... a curse. }:)

I really wish they would take some of us in earlier.

I have absolutely no worries about the cloth map. I've seen a couple videos of the beta and I'm dying to get my hands on it to start testing. Maybe I'm just weird like that.

Does anyone know if our preorders are reflected in our account records?

Uncharged preorders do not display on your account since they're simply queued invoices at sales until they actually get charged. You should have an email from when you placed your order, though.

I agree,  beta testers are those who are willing to give away slave labor to stardock to help them hammer the kinks out of the game before launch.  If you just want to play the game because it kicks ass.. then I suggest you wait.

If you beta test a game, I suggest you be ready to give full detailed bug reports and honest feedback on the game as described in the beta testing thread.

From what I see so far, Stardock wants to make sure this is done right I fully expect dates to be pushed back, last minute changes to be made and a bug report thread a mile long before the beta is over with.  In the end the final product will be worth it.

So stay in touch, as I fully plan on kicking your butt in this game when it comes out :)

Some guy named Frogboy wrote this. Not sure if you can trust his word on it though. :)

"Hi guys.

New players won't get in until Beta 2 which is currently scheduled for March 18th."

my post below

thats why i preordered it, I thought we where granted be able to play the game in beta and it would just auto update with new features as they came online for test and trail and fun.

at least that was impresion i got form web page from when they said that beta is real and you will get access to it like in SINs of soalre empire, I pre ordered those games to get access to beta to play game sooner and thats way it was you pre ordered and you got to play the game period, and as they did updates they updated them.

so I thought this was same way.

Grrr. We’re gonna get bumped

NewKing_Medallion_Full There’s a big Impulse announcement on Wednesday so we’re going to get bumped to the following Thursday. I guess we’ll just be that much more polished.

Sorry about the wait guys.  The Impulse announcement is pretty cool though. I’ve been watching what they have in store. It’s one of those “Duh, why isn’t everyone doing this already?” type things. But IT can’t handle us, this and the Sins of a Solar Empire update next week too.

On the bright side, there will be a TOOONNN of new game info coming out this week.

so that would actully i guess be febuardy 25

It's to TEST the game not to just play it early anyways...geez get your priorities right.

It lacks magic, tactical combat, world class AI, dynasties... Not much to play to.

I like the idea that we are able to test the "beta" and give input on the game, but as it has been said this is more of a alpha test, not a beta.  You really should keep in mind that what we the fans are getting to do for free is what usually people get paid to do, the company is saving money and getting a public test group all at once.  So while it isn't our right to be in the "beta" it's not as much of a privilege as some are making it out to be, the company is getting a big free resource, which probably comes with some extra unusual working conditions for the designers.
