Win to fail... or Fail to win.

Win to fail... or Fail to win.

My newest (And hopefully, most successful attempt at) Forum Game!

Hello all!

For this game, you must make a Fail out of the person's Win, who posted above you. For Example:

Win: I just got promoted to a Brigadier General in World In Conflict!
Fail: I still suck at it.

Or something to that effect. Rules:

1: Do not post multiple Wins or Fails
2: Do not make multiple Fails out of one Win
3: Have fun!

Let me start...

Win: I got 3 Karma in under 2 days, all from something Code: Geass related.

Fail: Time Lords are more likely than you having a space empire.

Bonus Fail: Everyone

Win: Sonic Screwdriver.

Fail: the Time Lords can't be real because you cannot change the past. I thus refute you by invoking the Novikov self-consistency principle.

Bonus Fail: you probably have never heard of it before, and therefore do not understand its implications.

Win: I understand the Novikov self-consistency principles and the implications of it.

Bonus Win: I'm probably the only teen on the forums whose even heard of it.

Fail: I HAVE heard of it, but I'm certain you know alot more about it then I do.

Bonus Fail: I'm not a teen, so maybe you are the only one on the forums whose heard of it.

Bonus Fail 2: After a quick bout of research you can keep your Novikoc self-consistency to yourself, any theory that questions my free will fails,

Win: Not worrying about time theories.

Bonus Win: If you've ever seen the movie 12 Monkeys(Bruce Willis) this happens. But once again, I don't waste my time with theories.

Fail: not 'wasting' your time with theories. They can be very interesting.

Bonus Fail: whatever happens will happened, but that doesn't mean everything is pre-determined. To put it this way: If I post this, it was always going to happen, but if I didn't, then it never would. The junction is that I had to "choose" which path to take, thus choosing what action I made.

Win: actually figuring out some implications of a theory, and then writing a book about it.

Fail: Sure if you choose to post then it was always so, and if you didn't then it never would have happened. But with Novikoc I'm told it's not possible to go back in time and stop you from posting, unless I had previously gone back in time to stop you from posting, which would question my original motive for going back.

^Not sure If I successfully followed that train of thought.

Win: Deciding to leave theories to those with the desire.

Fail: leaving theories to those with the desire.

Win: looking it up yourself.

As for the Novikov principle, 1) please spell it properly. It just bugs the crap out of me to see you not do so (<-pet peev of mine). 2) you are correct, except you cannot change the past AT ALL. If you go back, then you can effectively only observe events, you cannot actively partake in said events yourself.

Fail: spelling Novikov properly when it's an obscene name I will probably never type again, and the "c" is right next to the "v".

Win: Skynet using time travel to destroy John Connor.

Fail: fluid timelines are SO last year.

Win: writing a story where FTL actually makes you go back in time.

Fail: making it into a movie, then a poorly crafted video game soon after.

Fail: it wouldn't be made into a movie (BLASPHEMER!!!) but it would be made into a small group of high-quality video games I hope.

Win: I of course would have to produce/make said video games. Otherwise, yes, they would be poorly crafted fail-games.

Fail: Games you make.

Win: Sins of a Solar Empire

Fail: Still not knowing who is killing off the Vasari.

Bonus Fail: The douchebags will catch up to the Vasari and the TEK, Adven, and Vasari will work together to destroy the douchebags. Which is such a transparant chain of events.

Win: If stardock makes something interesting happen.

Fail: spelling TEC wrong.

Win: STARDOCK+IRONCLAD!!!

Fail: I hate the TEC so it doesnt bother me.

Win: /agree Stardock+Ironclad

Win: not hating the TEC.
