Can't launch updated Sins Help!

I've been a happy player of the original Sins that I purchased over a year ago. Today I decided to upgrade the latest version, so I installed impulse and downloaded the latest update. After rebooting, however, I am unable to start the game. The 'Sins Launcher" starts, but just sits there with nothing displayed on the screen and taking no CPU time. I can exit the launcher by right clicking on its icon in the task bar, and attempt to relaunch it, but it just does the same thing. Just sits there with no window displayed. I'm running Windows XP with an nVidia GTX 280 graphics card, Intel Q6600 processor and 4 Gb RAM. I'm going to try uninstalling, and hopefully re-installing

If only the launcher GUI is not working (which can happen for a variety of reasons such as overeager antivirus, but as it's just the launcher it's not generally worth troubleshooting), try running Sins of a Solar Empire.exe directly from the location you have it installed at. If that works, just make a shortcut to it and you should be set.

Thanks for the idea, however the re-install seems to have done the trick, so I'm a happy camper again :)
