Buy now 32bit -upgrade to 64?

This may have been asked, even answered before... but I will be upgrading my system in the new year (hopefully 64bit). My question is if I purchase a copy (pre-order) of Elemental now for my XP system, will I have the option when I reinstall the game on my new system to upgrade to 64bit for free?

I'm interested, you say your waiting for 64 bit Havok? Does that mean that the game will have physics? Or is havok used for other things aswell? Sorry for noob question.

Hi Ghost.  We're using Havok for its animation system.

I hope you guys make it 64 bit im excited for it and you could always raise the price of the game to offset whatever it would cost you a bit i wouldnt mind paying extra like five to ten dollars for such features plus its going to a good game developer so doubt it would be wasted between you, bethesda, valve and paradox i really dont care paying a little extra for a game even though paradox games arent that great until the first few patches are through with :P

Well since this was bumped anyway. Any new info on the negotiations with aquiring Havok 64?

Thanks!

I suggest using Chuck Norris in the negotiations. I heard he is expanding the business...

Has there been any news on this? I realise these talks can take many weeks, but I just started building a 12 gig rig and Elemental was a huge motivator in going down that path :D

If at a later date 64bit Havok can be aquired for a reasonable price; will you guys jump on that? Or have you considered offering other perks to Intel to lower the price? Send a them few community members. I'm sure atleast one or two Intel execs has some kind of harem that could use fleshing out.

Given the 32-bit memory allocation limit, would it be possible to have larger maps if one would turn off the close up game rendering and just stick to the cloth map (netbook-mode)?  Civ 4's map-size/memory limitations, especially late game, are so frustrating.

would be nice not to have to wait forever for the ai to do all its stuff on 64 bit since i should get a new comp before this comes out that should be able to run everything nicely, i would love to run elemental at max with out the long turns.

Really nice to know that your doing your best i don't care if you have to charge us monthly or yearly to play this game because i know its going to be fun as all hell, kinda like spore with all the editors only with real multiplayer.

A curse upon Intel for their greed ;-), let's hope they decide to be reasonable. I guess this is the price of using third party products in your game engine though, still I'm sure Elemental will be great even if thanks to Intel there is no 64Bit version.

Is there any news on 64bit version? I was checking out features at impulse and saw that one of them is:

With a 64-bit version that utilizes new technology, and an engine built to run on older machines, Elemental will seamlessly scale with your PC!

Does that mean that we will definitely get 64bit version of elemental? Just curious.

What you see on Impulse's page is probably old. As for news about negations I'm sure there is a PR person somewhere within stardock who has a knife and a twitch that wont go away until there's a deffinate yes or no answer.

Was this from a recent developer journal?
