Mouse cursor disappears in full screen (solved)

I just a few days ago built a new computer and have been in the process of reinstalling everything. I installed impulse+sins+entrenchment since I discovered a friend also had the game so we could play. When I launch it in fullscreen, however, there is no mouse cursor right from the get go. Swapping to windowed mode shows the cursor, but I don't like to play that way. I get too confused when I go to scroll at the top or bottom edges and nothing happens. :P

My specs are:

OS:Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

CPU:Intel Core i5 750

Motherboard: Gigabyte P55-UD4

RAM: 8GB DDR3 (2000Mhz)

Graphics: ATi Radeon HD5870 (drivers updated to latest)

Mouse: Microsoft Sidewinder X8 (drivers updated to latest)

I've tried messing around with in-game settings, cursor settings, and enabling/disabling vsync in my graphics card's options. No luck so far.

Edit: Also tried a variety of XP/Vista compatability settings with visual themes enabled/disabled.

Edit: Never mind, figured out the problem, it was having windows magnifier open in the background (prevents the 'big mouse cursor' bug with the 5000 series cards)
