[BUG] Scout's are Gone from the game

I was having some issues with scouts that couldn't leave city/kingdom borders, but after the last patch, Scout's are gone from the Game I only have soldier as unit's.
I already un-installed the game 3 times , deleted all files related to elemental that I could find, and still no Scouts ....

Also after a about 10 min into the Game it runs "out of memory"

PS: I am running windows 7 pro with 12G Ram

Scouts don't appear anymore as predesigned units.

You've got to create them by going to the military design window. Choose Soldier, then Upgrade then Equipment and you'll see you can create a soldier with Scout's Equipment (a woollen cloak and a walking stick). Just name it "Scout" and that's it!

PS: that said, giving the basic soldier a scout's equipment doesn't seem to change his parameters. Would be good if it would give him 2 mobility points instead of one (Otherwise, why equip him in the first place?)

Thanks Mandelik

Were scouts gone also in the previous upgrade ?
If they were maybe this was the reason why my custom unit "scout1" couldn't leave city border, and the only way I could do it was making them join another unit, in this case a 'soldier'.
And when in the last update 'scout1' also disappeared I thought that was a bug ....

thanks again

PS: I agree with you ....

Yeah, we're moving away form pre-designed units (the alpha even had 'workers' to train) and debating the best way to allow more varied customization (aside from 'soldier' designs).

I think what's really important here, from a suggestion standpoint, is that we need an early game fast moving (low combat) type unit.  I haven't seen anywhere on the tech tree where I can get more movement points anytime soon.  It shouldn't be a situation where the map is already explored by your sovereign when scouts are available to design and build.  Have the scout kit do somthing like trade Attack value for movement.  I would be perfectly happy with an attack 0 / 2 move unit from the start.

Speaking of fast-moving, reducing everybody's movement speed by a factor of 6 was a VERY annoying change, not only becuause it's slow but because now those wonderful terrein effects on movement speed are completely moot.

End of Scoutdog's quote

I have to aggree with you here.  If movement is stuck at 1, you can never catch any of the people you are chasing, even if they are only 2 squares away from you.
