Elemental driving me mental!

Elemental driving me mental!

But i still lub it.

Ok, been playing elemental beta since i first got a chance (the second it came out in impulse:blush: ) , looking at all the nifty features and what not, and bam! beta 1b comes out and now i cant play it any more. I can get into the game (sometimes) it randomly crashes all over the place, which it didnt before. If im in a game and go to the main menu and start another game it always crashes without fail. Also it crashes when i try to load a saved game. It crashes when i attack something  and out just wandering around the map. Or crashes if i just look at the screen to long.

Soo... any ideas what gremlin attacked my lovely beta elemental? Im running windows 7, so wondering if thats the culprit. But didnt have this problem with the first beta. X(

Anyone else have a problem?

Hm weird....how come that the game crashes [the caravan related crash is especially annoying, since I cannot complete a game at all....] occasionally on x64 Vista, but it works almost perfectly on x64 Win7? o_O  Maybe it's a driver problem or something? I don't think so, I installed the latest [WHQL when it was available] drivers. I am clueless.

It doesn't brother. I'm on Win 7 Pro 64. It's a little more stable for me in XP Compatibility mode.

If the last two Beta's are any trend then stability probably won't be a major issue they address until the basic fleshed out game-play skeleton is there. Meaning all the scripting for the actual mechanics (not withstanding tweaks of course) as these can cause new bugs and crashes upon introduction. When they have all those in more or less, then they'll really address stability and we'll start the long debates on balancing.

The current beta build works pretty well for me, the one before that didn't work at all. So the trend is to show improvement, but its effective an in-development program right now. Developers are going to break it sometimes.

Ah I see. :) Well, I've tried out compatibility modes, I tried to run the game in admin mode...nothing helps. Weird. This caravan related crash is what's driving me nuts to be honest...and it looks like that it's only me, who has this problem. :omg:

Id say try a re-install. Maybe you need to clear out the no-caravan-liking gremlins. Or try to change the display settings for the game. That seemed to clear up some problems for me before.

Same OS here, crashes very early, every time no change from last patch.

Hey, if it worked perfectly for everyone we wouldn't need beta!
