[BUG] Mysterious Missing Metal

After unlocking Metallurgy, I see another tech called Ventri Iron appear on my research status bar and the bottom of the tech "medallion", although the rest of the UI still stays stuck on Metallurgy. I can research Ventri Iron normally, but once I research it nothing detectable happens and I start researching mining bonuses.
