[0.25][GRAPHICS/PERFORMANCE] Weird glitch in menu

Sigh

I had problems in Beta 1A, but now it's even worse (this might have been posted before):
Game works fine as long as I'm at the cloth map, but as soon as I click the kingdom icon-thingie to get to the unit design screen, things get weird. I get different graphic issues every time, and the severity differs depending on the resolution.

What they have in common is that the game goes down to about 1-2 FPS, while before that (on the cloth map) it ran perfectly. The lag doesn't stop after I've left the unit creation screen, it continues for the rest of the game (until I exit to Windows). So basically, the game becomes unplayable as soon as I click the button.

Also, my soundcard dies a few seconds after I click that button, after some clicking and popping noises. Is it as if it gets overloaded or something.

EDIT: After setting EVERY setting to the lowest possible, the lag has disappeared. But the 3D char in the unit creation is still blurry, and the whole scene is displayed in about 3 or 4 colors (white, black, crimson and moss-green).

EDIT: Uhhh... Very weird discovery here: My graphics card produces different kinds of screeching and/or humming noises depending on what menu I'm in. Yes, my graphics card, not the fan or anything like that. In the main menu, it's like a long (consistent) screech which is loud enough for me to hear it from where I sit in front of the monitor. In the other menus the sound is less screechy and more humming, but in different pitches depending on which menu is open. When I exit to Windows it goes quiet. Needless to say, no other game does this (I've specifically checked Mass Effect and Morrowind).

End of quote

Sounds like time to look into a new video card... the magic smoke might soon escape if it's actually making auible noise from the solid-state components.

As I said, only Elemental does this. I can run graphics-heavy apps like 3D Mark for several hours witout any issues (and temperatures stay around 50 C).

Same thing as this. If you have AA enabled and enter the unit design menu, the framerate drops. Also, to clearly see the units, I entered the new unit screen.

Turn anti-Aliasing off and let us know if i disappears.

Be sure to post your debug files so Stardock can work on it! Kryo requested debug for AA problems and I've only seen two of them posted so far.

If you read my post you'd see that I already tried turning all graphics settings down to minimum and so on. To quote myself:

After setting EVERY setting to the lowest possible, the lag has disappeared. But the 3D char in the unit creation is still blurry, and the whole scene is displayed in about 3 or 4 colors (white, black, crimson and moss-green).

EDIT: I put all settings on highest except for Anti-aliasing which I turned off, and it's working lag-free. But it still looks messed up. The 3D in the unit screen looks like there's 10000 times too much bloom, which means it's almost completely white with a silhouette of a unit in the middle and some glimpses of the background here and there.
