How about renaming the "Elementopedia" the '"Lmnopedia"?

win! I was thinking someone should start a thread for suggestions alternatives to the womeaht unwieldy "elementalpedia". I like your suggestion. I hope others come up with more ideas for the thread.

I would suggest Ellopedia.

Or Channellopedia, or Chanellpedia

or "Disertation of the Elements and their Media, by ye aged old scholar"

Suggestions:

  1. Book of the Elements
  2. History of *Foo, with *Foo being replaced by the name of the current game world
  3. 5 different guide names for the 5 different elements (Tome of Water, Tome of Fire, etc.).  Which one you get depends on your sovereign's primary elemental allegience.  The basic info is the same in all Tomes, but the flavor text varies to reflect that elemental school's view of the world.

Probably more clear if you had it LMNOPdia.

However, I do appreciate the pun.

well .. I undestand the need to include "pedia" although it could be its very own word. Like Elementology, for instance.

for instance, if a Morrowind/Oblivion TBS game were to come out, the pedia would most likely be called "the elder scrolls"

wether the name for the pedia will be closely tied with the games main name will have to be up to the development team.

"Of the Elements" would actually be a decent name for the Pedia, as refers to the game's title, is not akward to say, and references the fact that it is indeed an encyclopedia of the game.

"Elemental Compendium" or "EleComp" for short.

"Tome of Knowledge" or "ToK"

"Tome of Elements" or "ToE"

"Book of Elements" or "BoE"

"Elementhesaurus"

Just a few ideas.

As long as it says "Bear cavalry:   Ferocious and unstoppable.  Any opponent is pretty much @#$!ed."

If it needs to be longer, it can have "Especially space ponies." added on.

If it wants to actually contain something intelligent, it COULD add:

" Bears are members of the Ursidae family.  They are Bears are normally antisocial which makes them less comfortable to be trained with other bears the way horses or dogs might with their own kind.  Bears can be taught to do gentle things like dance or ride on bicycles, but in times of war they can be heavy weight champions of the battlefield"

But really I thin the 1st 2 lines are all we need.

only the first bear cavalry line. Space ponies does not naturally compute into bear cavalry, and also breaks the princess rule

I have no problems with the original "Elementopedia" to be honest. :P

I think losing 'a' in "Elementapedia"(which was originaly proposed by Frogboy) resulting in "Elementpedia" is just fine to me...

Too hard to say. I would prefer The Liturgy myself, but since that sounds to the less-educated reader like something Senators would have to resign after being caught performing, I think we should stick to Book Of The Elders or something like that.

I think you mean "Tome". A tomb is for putting dead people in. x_x

They could also call it something like "The accumulated knowledge of <sovereign's name>" and I would liek to see tabs within it for bestiary, spellbook, tech research, etc. And stuff is added as you ecounter it in the game. So at the start o the game there could be all kinds of common knowledge entries, and as you encounter new creatures, and research new technology, new entries appear.

yeah, it was a bad joke anyway.    What do you mean the princess rule though?    It refers to something I must not be aware.
