Well this was reported, its the alt-tab bug. What version are you running? 0.24 was just released, so you might want to upgrade if you haven't.

Also, just hit printscreen in the game to get screenshots, fullscreen or not. They show up in the My Documents\My Games\Elemental\ScreenShots\ folder.
