Come and relax yourself

So, this is a place you can stress down from all those games you've won/lost ...

Well .. why such a place? Because i've played my 53th game and .. won only 3 times because of hangs/CTD/save problems

And you ? How many games did you finished ? On how many tries ?

Somewhere elses I said that the 0.23 let me win some games .. well, well, well ...

And you ? Are you also getting some fun ?

Easily over 200 games myself.  Though it hardly counts as I'm not really playing the game, I'm trying to reproduce bugs and break the game most of the time.  Most of the time they last less than 10 minutes.

I've never won a game, and I've lost quite a few.  In all my games I've only ever built 1 unit.

I haven't been keeping count.  I've lost a few games through getting my sovereign killed, but never won one, mostly because of CTDs.

I've been mostly producing units and cities but i cannot seem to get my sovereign to produce more then 3, but I'm new enough that i don't know if thats normal.

If you level up your sovereign through combat you'll get extra essence that you can use to build more cities.

You actually don't need essence to build cities in some cases.  Your cities spread livable land throughout the area of influence, which is dependent on the prestige of the city and its population.  If you build a city at the edge of this area of influence, you don't need to use essence (livable land has a faint green tinge).  Currently, the only way to increase prestige is to build housing.  Also, when you kill an enemy sovereign, any cities that he still controls disappear, but the land remains livable.  One tiny exception is the area around a water crystal, which has a faint blue tinge and resists the incursions of livable land.

Considering that maximum mana is dependent on essence, I don't think spending essence will be the way ultimately to play the game.  Unless there's a way to restore essence later.

I should add that I've managed to get up to 24 cities through this method.

All true, Flarelocke, and good information.  So far I'm finding it easier to capture someone else's cities than to build a lot of my own.  That will of course change as the game development progresses

Yep, enemies never try to get my cities.

Have you decresead performance when you play for a long time ? You should try to launch a game and win it to test those bugs that only show in the long run.

You can see how many times you tried the game, thanks to the stats from impulse ;) (you just need to use impulse to launch the game)

Yes, there's greatly decreased performance and enormous memory requirements.  At 24 cities, the game alone took 1.7 GB of RAM.  Weird graphical errors start popping up once I get more than 10 cities (see my other thread on those).

Just winning the game doesn't take very much effort at this point.  You could probably do it in less than 20 minutes if you focused on assassinating sovereigns.  Other people have already reported most of the errors that result from winning the game (e.g. the foggy white screen you get when you play a second game in the same session).

Yep, I don't have encountered a new bug for days. Anyway, now I try new things, or to break the game with strange behavior. I tried to level up my sov as much as I could do. I got to the 9th level before any crash.

When I start the game on my Dell Latitude D830 the fans will turn on and go full speed as long as the game is running. Even if I dont play and just leave the game open. My computer goes hot and I am afraid to leave it without exiting the game.

Does trolls or spiders ever take/raze a city or is it impossible for neutrals to do so? I havnt seen it happen.

As the AI isn't already implemented ... I think they don't really try to do such things as trying to capture cities.

I wanted to play a full game after the first BETA update [because the save/load system was heavily bugged in the first release] and what happens? My video card just died...I am getting a new one on this week, so I cannot play 'til then..:(

I've had a troll sit on top of one of my cities and nothing happened.  I thought it was odd that the troll would choose to sit there on its own, but I never lost control of the city.
