[BUG] Infinite research on farming

I found this only with farming but i'm not sure that this happen for everything.

The farming tech arrives at 99% development then in the turn it must reach 100%, it returns to 98% then some turns after 99% then 98% again.

It's a feature. You'll see the same thing for housing, civilization, etc.

Infinite research : you want a kingdom that doesn't need to pay its soldiers ? Use A LOT of your time researching that tech that gives an army cost bonus ...

You don't want to be ever short on food. Ever ? Just research A LOT farming bonus.

etc.

Even if you "finished" a technology, you can still get bonuses grom researching with it.

but just set it to, let say 200% or above, It's a bit confusing  when the research grow until 99% then return to 98% then again 99% and so on. So or we're talking about two different things vieuxchat (and i found a bug) else i think that type of "infinite" reasearch it's broken.

no its reseting to 97% because currently the infinite research doesn't scale well with ultra large cities. I'm pretty sure this feature IS broken currently as once I had 8 or so cities I noticed I was insatntly getting tech upgrades. Probably because so much tech is missing from the current beta.

I think whats happening is that the research isn't fully implemented in this build so we get research that just keep's repeating itself or gives us the infinity time till completion message. I can't be sure but it happen's to me as well and that is what I am getting out of it.

how did you get the large cities? I can never get my population over ~150 I have made it to level three but no further. I've built farms and large house/estates/mansions etc but the population just stops growing.  how do I continue growing or is this part of what is not yet released?

I think what there saying is that after you develop the farm through agriculture, it just keeps reproducing farming bonus, which might be intended, but the one this is sometimes you research something and it sits at 99% indefinantly which i think is a bug because one game i could finish the research of veteran and expert troops but the next time i did it, they sat at 99% and never completed.

I'm certain that population growth depends on Prestige.  I'm not sure but I think it might also depend on food as well.  I've gotten population up to ~290 by having lots of mansions.  Once your cities have reached max level, there's not much you can do.

Yes, it happens with everything.  It's actually not infinite; if you keep researching for long enough with a large empire, you'll eventually get it to say Agriculture: never.  If you change your research after that, Agriculture will disappear (like the weapon and armor techs do).

Devs said that they only put – for the moment – 3 levels of city. So don't try to get past it, there's none ... at th emoment.

For me there is no infinite research, even if it looks so at first glance. Try building or concering more cities so yur researchoutput ist high (100 or more points) and after 40 or 50 times getting the farming bonus you will see the next stepp for farming will occur ..never... . So there is an end to researching aggriculture and getting an farmingbonus.

I tested this behavior with all the techs and it works fine for me. Anyone else?

I always figured it was hitting 100% for that level then rolling over into 98% of the next level. It will fluctuate from 95%, 96%, 98%, and 100%.

I do agree that the UI with the infinite researching is currently misleading.
When you've researched everything and are working on an infinite research tech, the green progress gauge that wraps around the icon should probably stay full, maybe use a little bit of that space for a different colored indicator that shows progress towards next upgrade....

Its hard to say at this point whats going on really, I mean we are at stage 1 of beta 1, its just initial compatibilty right now, I would guess that most the research and stuff isn't even implemented at all yet.
