[BUG?] Elemental Will Not Start Outside of Impulse RESOLVED

When I start Elemental from within it's program folder, the screen goes black and I get the 'feather' icon, but nothing. I waited 10 minutes once in case textures were loading. Than I started up Impulse and ran the program from there, and it worked just fine. I was connected to the internet on both occasions.

 

I am not sure if it's a bug, since perhaps the Impulse overlay allows SD to track user information; I also understand that Elemental multiplayer will rely on Impulse features. But for the singleplayer experience, will running Impulse be require? I generally run SD games without starting impulse.

EDIT: DOH!!! Forgot the magic rule of beta testing. Always attempt to repeat the bug. While it WAS repeatable at the time, after a restart of my computer, I have NO problem starting up Elemental from it's program folder, without having to start up Impulse.

The game should work without starting it via Impulse. At least for me it works fine without loading Impulse prior to it.

Hmm, sounds like the intro movie is failing for some reason.  Can you please run the game outside of impulse, then post your debug.err file here.
