Useful, but a bit general. Might want to ask people if they've experianced some of the more common bugs like "flooding" after a save/reload, mine misplacement, or useless roads.

Yep, it is a bit general.  I just used the questions Kryo stated that Stardock was looking for in https://forums.elementalgame.com/364444.

They want details posted on the forums here.  I am just attempting to give them a high level overview that they can't get on the forums.

Don't forget that Stardock wants us to post detailed debug reports. I don't think a survey really provides the granularity of info they are looking for. But I took the survey anyway.

The survey is also useful. Though it would be more useful I think if it mentioned specific problems.

In finding the source of the bug it is very important to know the frequency it occurs with and also any conditions present when the bug occurs.

I agree, we need to keep posting detailed bug reports and submitting crashes into the bug tracking system http://fogbugz.stardock.com/default.asp?pg=pgPublicEdit .

If I get any sort of feedback from Stardock or I get a beter picture of what they want I will be more then happy to create a more detailed survey.  The reason I did not ask for details in the survey is that I did not want to encourage people to stop posting them on the forums and the bug tracking system.

P.S. 30 people have taken the survey, keep up the good work!

I shouldn't have answered to the survey : I said the game didn't crash .. and after taking the survey ... it crashed 4 times in a row, then now I can't finish a game. I always have a crashing bug :P

My first CTD happened right after I took the survey as well but I can still play.

I'd like to recommend that you update the OP with the stats rather than posting them in the topic - provides quick reference. It's a good survey, and is general enough to provide an at-a-glance report.

Good idea.  When I get a chance later today I will do so.

Thanks,

P.S. 67 people have taken the survey.

I cannot click any of the options.

SD will probably not use it anyway since these tend to give a very iffy impression at best. It is a good attempt though.

Actually, because we only see the bugs here on the forums, it's nice to see that things are working for others.
Thanks for posting the survey.  We'll be checking up on it.

I'm not sure if you can add a question, but if you can, it'd be nice to know what video cards people are using:

a. ATI
b. NVidia
c. Intel Integrated Graphics
d. Other

Yep, and the survey should be re-done .. cause I have understood that I can't finish a game with the fallen ones ;) If I play with the not-fallen humans I can finish games.

So my answers would be different this time.

Submitted survey results for my laptop(intel integrated graphics). My desktop(Nvidia) fares far better in regards to graphics glitches and basic functionality. All the issues I've encountered already have bug reports on them, so unless Stardock wants several dxdiags for the same problem I won't bother posting redundancy~

I was just about to suggest that video card be an added question, perhaps also OS   (version of windows and 32-bit vs. 64-bit)

So if the survey gets remade because 100 people work on it.    These seem like good things to ask.

(I guess nobody is really having sound issues)

I can add that question to the survey but I have the feeling that it is reaching the end of it's lifespan.  I was planning on writing up a new one tonight.  What information would Stardock like an overview of?

Question 2 kept me from taking the survey because there is no good answer for someone in my situation (I'm one of the folks caught by the FamilyTree version of the splash->CTD problems).

If you're doing an update or new one, please consider asking about whether the player can get past the title and into the game, and whether it required a workaround to get the game going.

Had to answer no to the last one, because It still wont let me save any of my damn games.

In the next survey most of the questions will not be required and there will be an 'Other' option that I hope will allow you to explain the 'Other'.

Unless someone from Stardock gets back to me I plan an asking about the users OS, Video Card manufacture, and what crashes they have encountered so I can cross tab the results.  I believe that info might be of use.

All,

Stardock responded to this Survey and requested some System Spec info so I created a new Survey asking for this info and added some questions about the crahes, hangs, and bugs you are encountering.

   Survey is at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=A5PfAwf4AWuyhmSNL3c83g_3d_3d

   Discussion thread is at https://forums.elementalgame.com/364789

Thanks,

I took your latest survey, Sammual, but I had to leave the questions about hangs on victory unanswered - I've never been able to win a game, since I'm always stopped by the crash on next turn bug. :S
