Problem getting screencap with Jing
Whenever I try to take a cap with Jing within Elemental, the game screen just turns black when the region-selector interface shows up. Outside of Elemental it works fine though. I'm running Win7 RC x64.

I had no problem using it in Elemental on Vista.
Apparently it doesn't work in fullscreen mode. Trying to figure out how to get it to switch back to windowed mode right now...
I had the exact same problem with Jing.
Start Elemental, go to Options->Video. Uncheck "Use fullscreen". I also recommend configuring the Jing preferences to set a Capture Hotkey.
Yeah, unchecking fullscreen doesn't seem to fix it... i unchecked it and started a game... it didn't change.. so i exited the game and restarted... still starts in fullscreen... went back to settings and fullscreen is still unchecked... looks like a bug..
If you can't get jing to work the Win7 snipping tool is actually pretty decent. If it had a text annotation ability it would be roughly equal in annotation features. It doesn't have the screencast integration of jing though, which is extremely useful.
I should note that I'm running in windowed mode with the resolution set to less than my desktop resolution.
Yeah, that was my problem. The res was same as my desktop, so it looked fullscreen. Couldn't move the window or resize it. Changed the resolution and it displays fine now. I guess that should be considered a bug. I don't remember reading that one though. Was it already reported?
Way back in the GC2 beta days, they had similar problems with alt-tab crashing the game. Windowed mode worked a lot better, and setting the window resolution equal to the desktop size - to get the effect of full screen but avoid the alt-tab problems - kind of got recommended as the best way to play. I've been away from Stardock betas since then, so I don't know their history, but it might be that for Elemental it's deliberately behaving this way.
