[Suggestion] Unit Design layout

Items from different categories (Weapons/Armor/Equipment) of the Unit Design screen are mutually exclusive. For example, equiping the Band of Fortitued in the 'Equipment' category will unequip the Band of Might from 'Weapons' without giving any indication that it happened except for the stat change. Same deal for Scout's/Bandit's gear and any weapon.

It'd be nice to have some kind of feedback that equiping item X will remove item Y. Maybe another UI panel that shows all currently equiped items?

It'd be nice to also have an icon in front of an item's name to show when it's equipped. As it is the 'equipped' text scrolls of my screen with some long names.

Maybe each 'slot' item could have an icon to represent what is mutually exclusive with it?

Another possibility is a paperdoll, like Diablo.

Or they could group the items by slot, rather than function.  Function might then be shown by colorcoding and sorting.

While we are at it, I think that more categories should get implemented. Example: Weapons/Armors/Rings/Bracelets/Necklances/Artifacts/Misc

I agree they need to have a system of slots for equipment like an RPG, that would make it plain how many wrings you should equip, etc.

I also notice that some equipment like shields don't show up on the model, even though it plays an animation like it has just got a shield. I assume that's just because the graphical element isn't ready and it's not a bug.

Indeed, the paperdoll system would work like a charm in Elemental. Good example is HoMM. ->

It's really a pain to create a new warrior because the word "equipped" appears at the end of the item like "leather armor - equipped" : when you have a long name, the word "equipped" doesn"t appear.

Maybe in a latter build the doll will be equipped with what we are giving to the warrior, but at the moment it's really hard to know what items are equipped. We really need a summary.
