I'm getting the same thing.  I'd add that it worked the first time I loaded it but I used that to set it to windowed mode.  Once I quit and tried it again it crashed at the splash screen each time.  I've tried it 5-6 times now with the same results.

Try the solution recommended by mstroh here. It seems to work for most people.
