[BUG (duplicate)] empty screen when game starts

When I started a game, (with a maximum amount of oponents) this was the screen I got:

 

This is the first  time this happened to me. I already tried the game before and I did get a normal view then.

[UPDATE:] this bug is a copy of this one here. (As stated there and here by Lord Alderaan, the problem is fixed by changing the resolution to a lower one)

reducing resolution did not work for me but I found that instead of taking the map name suggested by the game and making up my own solved the problem for me
