Please try changing the "Maximum Mip Map Levels" option to "1 Level". The option can be found in the "Video" tab of the Options screen.
Please let us know if that helps, or if the problem persists.
Thanks,
CodeCritter.
ATI card huh?
I've seen this kind of bug a couple of times in the feedback section, but I've never seen those strange markings. Looks like you have runes or something. Perhaps your computer is summoning an evil spirit.
This looks exactly like my issues here and here.
The imprint issue(drawn over camera), was solved in my case by putting the resolution to the lowest setting (1024x768). The black lines on the map can be solved by turning the mipmap level to 1.
My imprints didn't have text on them though, lucky you!
Btw, a suggestion: url tags don't work (bbCode has no place here), just paste the imageshack code for HTML thumbnails in the forum HTML editor. Also, post your debug.err file onto pastebin.com and link to it, just to see a bit more about your system.
Interesting to note that my card is a x1950 Pro, very similar to the x1900XTX. landisaurus: someone did claim to have the issue with an nVidia card, but so far they never came back and posted screens. I had thought it was an issue with the ATI legacy drivers (which for some reason a 2 year old card is now on). Maybe it still is.
One of my shots looks like runes a lot too.
I have the same card and the same problem, but I must admit changing the mip level to 1 solved the problem for me.
If enough of you report success with the 1 mip map solution I can mark this one off as fixed ![]()
Mip map to 1 fixed the lines for me, but the other artifacts required me to set resolution to 1024x768, both issues were present only on my ATI video cards. You can see my post here:
While I thought this bug was a one time deal that I couldn't reproduce I was apparently wrong.
I started up Elemental and set the mipmap levels to 1 and started a new game and immediately had fun lines all over the camera (as welll as the awesome spawn position off the map with no channeler.
Restarted and tried again and the lines were still there. Changed mipmap around and the lines persisted.
I then took the advice to change resolution to the lowest setting and the game looked and stayed playable with no noticeable graphics problems anywhere (and no black mess all over the map like I was getting previously).
