Terrain features also disappear; there should be a forest abutting the city selected here:

Confirmed same issue.

Before save:

After quitting the game, starting again, and loading the save game file.  Note the missing gold pouches, city, cityname and field icon.

After clicking around a bit, I noticed that the city was still selectable and useable. I could build/train as normal.

I had the same problem, but somewhere between updating my video drivers, rebooting, and starting a new game with a different faction, the problem seemed to go away. I have since been able to save and load without this issue. If the problem crops up again, I'll mention it here.

Edit: Ok, I just checked and it's back..... I noticed something else too. When I loaded it reset my avatar too. I was playing as the Knight-looking one, but the picture is now of the wizard when I loaded.

Doesn't always happen on save, can happen on start as well.  So it's a general bug.  I had it in my first game, so didn't even realize anything was wrong, heh.

Same issue here.  Loaded a save game, no overmap cities or graphics, only units.  Guess I'll be playing all my subsequent games in a single session.

Try to load like 10-20 times, I'd be surprised if one didn't work (I mean re-start the app every time too).  Also might be good to see the different error logs for one that works and doesn't.

Guys, post your debug.err files on pastebin or something.  That's much more useful than dxdiags.

I'm guessing though that loading saves wasn't one of the things SD required to work for this initial beta.

I was able to fix this by restarting the client, then starting a new game, at which point all the map details were intact, *then* loading my save game.

Prior to that it afflicted all my saves for that current game, not simply the last.

It should be noted though, that this screws up your Tech/Research, as it seems to inherit the availiable tech from the first game you just started.

and me!

So, are there actually people out there who *can* load a game successfully, or have many people simply not tried to yet?

Did you actually quit the client, then restart 9it and try to load the games, or did you simply load from an already working game?  It seems to load fine for me if I load a game when Im already in one thats working without restarting the client.

Anyone else that can verify for me theywere able to reload a game without issue after actually *exiting* the client?  I'm losing sleep here trying to troubleshoot this, which would be silly if it was just something that was affecting everyone.

Missing cities

After loading a save, not only were the cities missing but the land under them had changed to ocean.  (see image link.)  You can see that the fog of war has been lifted where the cities are supposed to be.  This load was done right after a reboot.  link to the debug.err http://pastebin.com/m17dff7fa.

The reboot was neccesitated when a more current saved game would lock up when trying to create the world.  Nothing would get past that generating world screen except a physical power cycling of the computer.  The debug.err for the save that wouldn't load at all is linked here http://pastebin.com/m5f207f05

Yep, loading saves is borked.

I have the exact same problem.

Also in the same loading game file I'm missing all the techs I've researched and the ability to build improvements that come with it.
