IRC?

No idea what it is (except some kinda chat program), but seems like it may be a good tool to use for the Beta. Can anyone help me set it up and point me to Stardock IRC?

You can chat right through impulse, go to the community tab and then down at the bottom is a link to chat

In Impulse, under Community, there's a Chat button on the bottom bar.  Select that, go to the impulse channel, and type in...

/join #elemental

And you'll join the room! Enjoy!

IRC is a type of instant chat program. Anything you type in a given channel is heard by everyone, and they can reply to you.

I don't know much about it though. Just enough to use it.

Impulse integrate an irc. Just need to input /join #elemental

I tried using the built-in IRC client in Impulse, but whenever I typed something, it was always trying to interpret it as a command.  So, I installed Pidgin instead.  Was I just doing something wrong?

End of Lord's quote

I think some software just got colicky for a bit this afternoon. From late morning to early afternoon Eastern time, things worked fine for me in the Impulse client. I dropped out for a while, came back somewhere past 1500 and found no left-side user list and that everything-is-a-command thing you describe. Some time (and an Impulse restart) later, it was back to 'normal.'

Good to know.  I'll have to give it a shot again.
