Collector's Edition?

Are there any rumors, grumblings, or plans for a Collector's Edition of Elemental?  If so, and I pre-order, will I be able to upgrade to the CE if it becomes available later?

Anyhow, kudos on this game.  MoM is possibly my favorite game of all time, and with Stardock's reputation, Elemental has the potential to be epic.  I'm drooling already.

There will probably be a CE, and people who pre-order will probably get it automatically.

Yeah thats how they did it with GC2 I beleive and also Sins. People who pre ordered got the CE.

Sins and Demigod also had Collector's Editions.   However, if you pre-ordered the digital-only version (which can't be collector's since there is no box), there was no way to upgrade to the CE box.

However, it has been stated somewhere that "someday there may be an upgrade button" that would allow people to upgrade to the retail (and thus collector's) box.

For the record, Stardock only sells the un-collector's edition box at retail outlets, and I guess when the collector's edition have out of stock.  If you order the box directly from Stardock, and they have any copies of the collector's edition left (i.e. are a pre-order or early purchase) then you will automatically get the collector's edition.  (this is what Ron was saying)

Thanks.  I live in Walled Lake and work in Farmington Hills, so know where to find the Stardock gang.  :)  I will be pre-ordering a week from this Friday then.

I think they said somewhere that only those who pre-order before the beta is released will get beta access. You may want to pre order as soon as possible if you want access to the beta. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I got the digital only Sins. They gave you the option to download the CE content.

For sins and Demigod, after release there was a way to upgrade to the CE box. It just takes some digging around on the forums to find, something like $5 for the upgrade, plus shiping and handling. I originally had the digital only for Demigod, but I later got the upgrade (mainly for the Rook mini:P )

Hmm, wish I had known this.  I ordered the Digital version.  Well if anyone sees anything would be nice to know.

I'm pretty sure that someone at [email protected] can help you modify your order.

I would like the CE but I must raise issues that this is really only attractive to NA customers. Because Stardock don't publish outside North America, I and many others in UK or EU have to internationally ship 'em.

I implore Stardock to start being a European publisher! Or atleast provide CE boxes through whichever UK/EU publisher you decide.

Can't really do that, they'd still have to be completely redone to comply with EU market requirements if they're to be sold locally there.

What if you're an european, but you pre-ordered it directly from stardock (using the link on this site). Will stardock use a european publisher, or will they send it directly from the states. (and if pre-orders are collectors editions, will i get one?)

If you order the box from Stardock directly, they will ship it overseas. You will of course have to pay the higher shipping, but as long as you're okay with that :)

The extra costs of S&H will be mitigated by the highly convenient dollar - euro course. Seriously, they charged me about 60 dollars, it converts to about 40 euros, which is the price of a store-bought game.

I'm still thinking there's going to be a limited editon with this game. I've only ordered the digital download, but luckily people can upgrade orders at any time (I think)

Seriosly where do you live in australia ;)

They charged mie for S&H 20$ for shipment to Poland. I preffer to have a nice box on my special game-shelf. Hope it will be CE.

I'm from the netherlands, my fellow european. I checked my confermation mail, and they charged me the same amount of euros. 48,68 (incl s&h) wich isn't all that much for a brand new computer game. It appears that i onlty bothered to remember it as a multiple of 10, damn my lazy brain.

Here is what someone got as an answer on Impulse

Shipping costs are added when you check out. International shipping is USD$20, IIRC. The final contents of the retail boxes hasn't been set this far out, but we usually fill box orders with the Collector's Edition.

==================

So, looks to me the boxed version will be CE yes?

As I noted there, that's what we usually do, but nothing concrete has been set for Elemental as yet.

|-) Thanks Kryo,  I hope we get the CE, but if not it's still nice to be in the beta and help out making the game.
