Not likely. Usually with this stuff the email you get will be Impulse telling you that your order was processed, and if you get in that will happen once the game goes up for download.
I mean they could send out emails to tell you that you got in early, but it doesn't seem like something they need to do.
I Hope BB or FrogBoy posts a list on the forums.

They had a post, I think there were 2 dozen handpicked, and I think that was based off of excellent beta testing on other products. My understanding is beyond that it is luck of the draw from among preorders, although I do think you get an entry in the drawing for each SD product you owned. I do not remember if karma or activity on the forums mattered at all.
This assumes that everyone on the alpha list is going to be running Impulse in the background. I was in the Stardock beta for GC2 TA, and Stardock Central filled 'the same' role that Impulse does now, but we received auto-generated email notifiying us that the download was available. I sincerely hope that the shift from SDC to Impulse will not eliminate that past courtesy policy.
IIRC from Entrenchment, Impulse emails you when your order is processed. It's at that point that Elemental gets registered for your account. So if they already published before doing that, it'll become available, yeah.
You can also use the Impulse tray application, which watches for updates and will put up a little bubble notification when new things are available (like patches).
Question: does anyone know if thursday is the day we can start playing because they've released the stuff, or if it's 'merely' the day they start setting everything up? (Mailling out NDAs, registering serials but not giving access to the game, etc etc)
I thought they had confirmed there would be no NDA's? From the sound of it (not that I have anyway of knowing for sure
) on Thurday the lucky few will be able to download it and start playing.
Confirmed that there will be an NDA for alpha for certain, and possibly for gamma.
has there ever been a question about that? I mean, there was a time we didn't know about the alpha (its a new thing after all) but I've never heard any possibility of the gamma *not* having an NDA.
the gamma has always had an NDA to my knowledge, and I recall discussions about how there has to be an NDA for the gamma so that there can be 'exclusive' bits for magizines and websites to post. Without that, the media won't be excited to write articles and no publicity.
I'm under the impression that NDAs are going to be mailed out prior to thursday so that the lucky ~100 can start playing on thursday. There has been a bit of "wait until thursday" on the chat, which suggests to me that it is confirmed on thursday there will be playing to be had. Also, its kinda confirmed that the build for the alpha is going to be up this week, and Stardock doesn't like to release on Friday because they don't like to leave people hanging over the weekend before getting support. It could be different for the alpha, since its a select 100, not the whole community, but still.

Well, if that's the case then I imagine a lot of very happy people must have e-mail in their in-boxes. Well, they still have a few days, but *I* wouldn't put it out any later than tomorrow, simply to give those lucky people time to get it back in 'on time' before thursday release.
I'm sure you know exactly to whom you should pass your feelings.
trouble is, when those very happy people discover what is in their inboxes, they won't be able to let others know they should check their own.
(watch half of them go to junk mail for including the words "you've won the drawing" or something)
