New Demigod: The Tracker

The Tracker is an assassin Demigod who specializes in self sufficiency, and taking advantage of those weaker than himself.

He has two combat modes. The first is to use his dual wielded blades, which have strong close range damage that can really hurt those he has trapped. The second is a weaker longbow useful for fighting distant opponents, and hampering their combat abilities.

He has 3 activated abilites, that are useful in both combat modes. He also has two passive skills for each mode, and one passive skill that effects both modes.

For the moment, instead of trying to come up with the correct balance of numbers, I am simply listing the effects each of these abilities has, without the exact amount of effect.  Take a look:

Activated Abilities

Snare
Tracker puts a snare on the ground that does damage and stuns someone who walks over it (can have 1 out at a time). Takes a couple seconds to put down (not intended for mid battle casting). Snares can only be triggerd by enemy demigods.

Blend
Tracker blends into the camoflauge and becomes invisible until he moves, or his mana runs out. Higher ranks drain mana slower. Has a casting time to stat the effect that can be interrupted.

Poison Coating
Tracker coats his blades and arrows with globs of poison that augment his attacks, causing them to do poison splash damage, and slow their targets briefly.(activated ability like Beastial Wrath, not passive like Maim or Modal like Angelic Fury).

Passives

Take Advantage
(Sword Skill)
The Tracker deals some additional damage to slower targets, and major additional damage to stunned targets.

Salvage (Sword Skill)
The Tracker uses left gear from his kills to augment his abilities.  After he gets a kill, he gains a stacking armor bonus.

Trophy (Bow Skill)
The tracker collects trophies from those he kills, which are worth money. He gets additional gold for each kill he makes.

Shot on the Run (Bow Skill)
When the Tracker is given a passive move command, he will still shoot his bow at the closest target, while moving (Even while running away). He shoots slower while moving.

Wild Attack (Bow and Sword skill)
Increase attack speed with Sword, and bows when tracker is wounded (Works with Shot on the Run)

Level 15 Skills

Blade and Bow (Requires Rank 4 in Trophy and Salvage)
Salvage and Trophy work for both weapon types, and are made stronger.

Debilitating Snare (Requires Rank 4 Snare Trap)
The Snare trap in addition to its normal effects also drains mana from the target, and stuns the targets minions for 10 seconds.

ShadowWalk (Requires Rank 4 Blend)
You can now move while blending, but expend three times the normal mana while moving.

So, how does the Tracker play?  First of all, he can set up his snare to try and trap an opposing player.  Perhaps pre-placed in a common Demigod running spot, or in a place he can run to to cover his retreat.  The snare doesn't get triggered by minions, but he can only have one out at a time. He can also use his short term poison as a little bit of AoE effect, and to try and snare soemone running away from him.  With the Blade skill Take advantage, he then does additional damage to people under these effects.

With his bow skills however, he can play the roll of a harasser. Shot on the run is great for Kiting, even if he doesn't get any additional range like Regulus can. He also makes more money while getting kills with his bow due to his Trophy ability.

Hmm, I'd normally at least expect some people to respond telling me the idea is bad.  Maybe it is too wall of text-y?

I have reformatted it to make it a bit easier to read.

I didn't really think much about the name, more on what it would do.  I'm sure someone a little more right brained than I could come up with some cool backstory and name :).

Is the salvage bonus permanent? Either way, I'd think Salvage and Trophy would be unused for the same reason no one hurries to acquire Rally with Oak. It shines too sparodically to be of value and adds nothing of value outside its one niche (dead DGs).

Wild Attack would probably also unuseful because its risky to stay on low HP, extra attack speed wont help you if you get spiked out every time you try to use it.

Poison + Take Advantage looks like decent damage and seems like it would be the one worthwhile thing about this DG, assuming it were assigned the numerical values I expect.

Shoot on the Run is a pretty neat idea, kudos. It'd be awesome harassment when combined with the Poison.

Based on the skill tree this is probably not how you drew it up, but if this DG were in the game I'd try somethng like

1: Save

2: Shoot and Run + Take Advantage

3: Save

4: Save

5: Shoot and Run + Take Advantage + Poison

You wouldn't be terribly good at first, except for shoot/run harassment, but at level 5 he'd probably start beasting everything.

Hes got great ambushing ability, but hes kinda lacking that big "gotcha" move that blows away tons of HP and finishes his own kill. If you add one then I can see the other moves becoming useful, though at that point the DG risks becoming a one-trick-pony.

Salvage and trophy work on any kill that gives xp or gold.  I guess that wasn't obvious. The point was for it to give little permanent boosts while fighting, not just a big boost from killing a DG.

You have a good point about no burst damage.  I think the damage from the snare could perhaps be fairly decent, and then maybe make the poison effect also quasi burst like.

i must agree with soff on trophy and salvage. They personally do not work with how the character works. I can see him easily as a harassment char. He has a great focus, just fragmented. He needs more skills that have to do with what he does. He can easily fuck over peeps in a 1v1. Imagine in any enemy dg were going for a flag, and u have ur snare set up right near the flag. You are cloaked, so he thinks its safe. Then pop u jump out of the shadows while hes trapped and start smakin him with posion. He really does need a burst damage skill though. And im the guy for a background and a good name and appearance. I can also help with some skills. So far he seems like he would be fun to play as. For a burst damage skill maybe like "Ambusher's Strike" you strike at your oppenet, dealing 100/300/500 damage and reducing armor and move speed for a short duration. This skill could do more damage if you are cloaked and can even stun them if you are cloaked. And maybe even a ranged skill "Go for the kill" where you deal like 200/400/700 damage to your target and reduce the fuck out of theyre move speed. That in conjunction with ambusher's strike would be evil. Slow move speed and reduced armor is mean. Maybe you could even lead them into a snare and get some poison on them.  Him and reg would be an evil fuckin team.... nj dude.
