Cant Run Demigod Anymore

I can't run demigod anymore! Before it used to run fine, obviously latency issues with the game is normal, but now everytime i even try to run the game, the screen flickers black a couple of time then says "Could Not Create Direct3D   Please ensure system has current video drives"

 

which is bullshit, seen as though this is a new laptop and everything is about as updated as i possibly can be. Is it because this is vista? I JUST WANT TO PLAY THIS FANTASTIC GAME! Why oh Why are you making it so difficult to play your game, you make a good game, then you dont actually want anyone to play it?

 

Anywho can anyone tell me what the hell is going on please? Cheers

My suggestion would to be to type in dxdiag in your run or search with vista and send it to support with an explanation of what is happeneing.

I hate subjective generalizations. I've been playing perfectly well since launch as have MANY MANY MANY MANY people.

My guess is a video driver on your end.

well my video driver is fully updated, and i used to play this game loads, but all of a sudden i cant run it, so nothing should have changed

 

EDIT: Ok so this is wierd, i plugged my laptop into my tv so im running dual screen, now it works perfectly, for some reason, i cannot play demigod out of dual screen.....

You could try editing your game.prefs file(document\my games\gas powered games\demigod).  There is a line for resolution that you may need to change if it stopped working.  If you changed your display setup, the saved resolution that Demigod is trying to load my not be compatible with the monitor you've switched to.  The line in the game.prefs file looks like this:

 

primary_adapter = '1680,1050,60',

 

Try changing it to a basic resolution that any standard monitor can handle(primary_adapter = '1024,768,60',)

 

Simply deleting your game.prefs file will accomplish the same effect; only it will reset all your game settings as well.

ha literally as i posted that edit i realised where i went wrong, i just expected the game would automatically change the resolution like the majority of my other games do, as i constantly go from using my dual screen to using my laptop by itself, anywho, thanks guys, problem solved :P was just me being stoopid as per usual.
