Installing Demigod of friends download

G'day,

I have two questions.

My flatmate just bought and installed demigod and I have just bought it.  Rather than use our bandwith nedlessly he has passed me his download.  Is there a way for me to tell impulse to install the darn thing without me downloading the 2.4Gb again?

Also, is there a way to tell impulse that I dont want it to install in the C drive??

You can change the install path by opening up impulse, clicking on the orb (upper left corner), and changing your folder preferences there.

Your mate can archive his installation (the location of the game files will also be found in the folder preferences, referenced above).  After transferring the file, you can "restore the archive" by clicking on the impulse orb (upper left corner) and click on "restore archive".

I believe the archive is tied to your account, so you can't use it but i'm not sure.

i have had this problem, i did the archive thing and the game only works in single player, as soon as my brother clicks multiplayer it says that there is an update, which stardock then starts downloading the 2gb again. this is really frustrating as we've tried it multiple times. Though i have a feeling its because the account/cd key has already been used, but i dont want to download the game again just to test this theory

click the top left menu icon and click detect application. point it to where you placed the demigod install and it should verify you just fine and then patch.

This is correct.  Your friend would have to log in on your machine to restore the archive.  Also keep in mind that archives made form installed applications will be specific to that OS.  The best option is to use the download and archive option, or anywhere.impulsedriven.com to download a copy that multiple people can use to install.  Keep in mind you will each need your own copy/key to play online.

You can also try this I did it during beta but guessing it still works...

Have your friend login to Impulse on your system.

Restore the archive (if the OS is the same).

Exit Impulse, relaunch impulse but login as yourself.

Click on the blue ? in the upper right hand corner and goto register a product with impulse. It will probably show Demigod with your friends Key. Select it, right click it, and pick  Remove Registration.

Then I forget... You might be able to just restart Impulse and have it update with the correct license key or you can put it in yourself if that doesn't work.

Good luck!
