Stood Up for God!

There is this girl that I met on the train, and I was kind of interested in her, in a let’s roll with this and see what happens kind of way, so yeah, I rolled with it, and last night I saw what happened – we had arranged to meet for drinks at 8.30… 9.30 rolls on by, and I receive a message that she is still at church… I simply replied that I was calling it a night, and she can say hi to God for me.
For me to consider a relationship with an overly religious girl is kind of stupid – sure challenge in a relationship is always stimulating, but I can only envisage frustration on both sides of the fence. I barely even knew the girl, yet I cannot emphasise enough how frustrated I was to be stood up by church, considering I feel the whole exercise of worshiping ‘God' in a pre-determined place of worship pointless anyway.
Maybe it happened for the best – I am very liberal at the best of times, and I can only see myself offending her anyway, I had a few questions about her, and I was going to use last night to answer those questions before I took anything to the next level – those questions certainly were answered though, and there is no way I am wasting any more time on a flaky girl who thinks Church is an excuse to break appointments with me.
Is it blasphemous of me to think that I am way cooler than God, and by proxy hanging out with me would be much more fun? Blasphemous shmasphemous… I guess being stood up for God is kind of cool in a way… apparently he is all powerful and watches everything, so in short, probably the only dude worth missing an engagement with me for, but that all depends on who you ask, and if you ask me… this takes being mad at religion to a whole new level… damn organised fools.
I hope God keeps her warm at night…
