DEMIGOD please read

Anyone know if I cant get my money back maybe? For a 50 dollar game I expected more this game is extremely limited examples.

Almost no maps only 8 heros. Limited game types. To be honest it's not very good and for such a small game it has pretty shit graphics.

I have played games that sacrifice graphics to make them huge I have played games that are very short but the graphics are amazing.

This game is neither it is a multiplayer only game so one might expect a wide variety but not really. This game is nothing more then Warcraft 3's custom made game DOTA you all know what I am talking about.

This game is a complete joke and I feel ripped of badly. Infact DOTA although I hate it is better in countless ways. Takes up less space its free there are more heros etc etc. Please word of advice to the company if you are gonna full out copy someone elses idea atleast do a better job of it!

[email protected] is the place to go.

Traditionally though, you don't get a full refund for not liking a game.  Perhaps you would have been better served waiting for a demo?

That's odd, reveiws are saying it has the best graphics this year.  My graphics for this game look eye-poping.

Oh my god, i just bought this game and by reading these things i can only think one thing: Why the hell peoples complains about everything?

Go back to supermario pls.

btw:

What a nice first post :P

I really don't think the graphics are all that amazing.  They are nice; but far from eye-popping, jaw-dropping "best graphics of the year award".

As someone else stated before, I'm sure you won't get a refund just because you don't like the game.  The problem is, the demo (actually working beta) was only available to pre-purchasers.  So there really was no way of --legally-- testing the game without buying.  Yes, I also believe Demigod is greatly insipired on Warcraft3's Mod DOTA, but this game takes the gameplay even further with flags moddifiers, upgradeable citidel and upgradeable units and even more level-up options for your Demigod (or Hero, if we're still playing the Demigod vs DOTA game) than you can have at maximum level (as of this post, 20), keeping each heroe's build and level up strategy new and fresh.

Also: punctution helps the rest of understand what you're trying to say.

No. Me!

I'll even complain about Demigod for you, if I don't caught up having fun that is.

Considering all of the features you list as being inadequate are described in nearly every review of the game I have seen, you really should spend more than 30 seconds picking out a game. Perhaps if you bothered to just read up on what you were buying you wouldn't be so dissapointed.

i believe this game has potential. for the game to be released with 18000 copys being sold with 120k pplz joining its kinda  a kick in the balls. im pretty sure that they will fix multi player + any extra bugs. TBH i think more beta testing should have been done but oh well.. for the single player games i have had it has been fun... btw for more heros i hope they do the honourable thing and incorperate a free expansion, with the game starting so badly, it will not be a success if they realease an "expansion" for another $50 that will unclock 2 more heros..

i thinmk the game is perfect.  Quick action and all strategy and using your wits.

If the origional poster hated DOTA, why did you buy this game in the first place? I mean every review I've read pointed out it took the basic idea of DOTA.

Did you not read about the game at all before buying it?

By the way I'm loving it, but it does seem to be a little prone to unhandled exceptions.

I love the game myself, yea it has some rough spots but stardock (in my mind) is a company that makes great games and puts great effort into support after release. If blizzard makes a game its a must buy stardock is on par with blizzard ide say.

Hrm, if you buy a new flavor of pop at a gas station and didn't like it, would you go back and ask for your money back there too?  I'm coming down hard on something I really don't have a stake in, so I'm.  It's just, this is a pet peeve of mine.  If something is miss represented, that's one thing, but if someone makes a purchase and then didn't like the item purchased...IT'S NOT THE SELLER'S FAULT.  What ever happened to buyer's responsability?

When it comes to a game that received as much hype as Demigod did I can see why people get frustrated when it comes to make or break issues like non-responsive multiplayer, and when a game lacks things as simple as a multiplayer filter.

The blame shouldn't be put upon our "buyer's responsability" as much as it should Stardock's quality control methods.

If you are in fear that a game wont please you, than wait. So you can read the reveiws and hear what your friends say what they think. (I hope you have friends)

But if you wanna have the newest game, then it could happen. Stop crying!

And what about 50 dollars? the download version is just 40. For me its fair cheap, fullprice games in switzerland costs about 70 dollars.

I think you are exaggerating.  Most people paid $39.99 for the download and if you wanted a retail box you could opt for $49.99.  So this game is available for $40, but that doesn't make for dramatic reading.  Also, this game has fantastic graphics and the art direction is phenominal even if you aren't a strategy fan.  Which clearly you aren't.  Which mades to wonder why would buy this game?  It's not like the gameplay type was hidden from you prior to your purchase.  Lastly, it is a game that is going to be added onto by Stardock so it is reasonable to start with less maps and heroes.  You should have known this too.

Regarding the quality of the maps that is universally said to be one of the best features of the game.  I note you make no note of the connectivity issues that Demigod had at startup.  If you had you would have hit on an issue.  But you say nothing about it.  This leads me to believe that you may actually have never played this game, becaue an honest whiner would have at least groused about the matchmaking.

I bought it about the time it came out and only started playing the Touney seriously last night.  I love it.  Graphics are awesome on auto - configure with 8800 GT 512 mb.  Shoot - even the lack of tutorial doesn't even bother me anymore. After playing click fest games like Company of Heroes and other RTS games, takes some getting used to not controlling everyone.

Can actually just settle down and enjoy the game.
