Banned because no, I am merely a Journeyman at WinCustomize.  The higher your rank, the more karma you can give. The fine Mods/Admin there have been very generous to me in regards to promotions. I do my best to be worthy of them.

I take it they have no such ranking system on other forums then?

Nope, no such thing on other forums. At least not on SOASE and Demigod forums.

So how do you get these ranks? Do you just need to have a large amount of karma, or is it irrelevant to karma?

The karma comes from members across all SD forums for all sorts of reasons, rank comes only from the "higher ups"

The promotions come from, among other things:

Maximizing being active and helpful in the WC forum and supporting the customizing community in general. Sharing your work in the galleries will help you climb the ladder. (I have no skinning talent here to help in that regard, I've survived by my wits.)

Minimizing moaning and complaining or criticizing others. The old saying..."If you don't have something nice to say"........ comes to mind.)

Being respectful and polite will pay off, who knew?

Truth be told, I like WinCustomize, and the folks who congregate there. It's a great place to be involved with.

I enjoy helping others if I can and promotions or not, I wouldn't change a thing as far as how I interact with it's members and visitors.

There aren't any at Elemental, and I don't know about JoeUser, Sins, or Demi-god, but I believe the plan going forward is not to have ranks for any of the new game sites in the sprawl.
