And my math teacher is arguably the single most condescending individual on the face of the Earth: she has a persistantly drill-like voice and yells at the top of her lungs, but what annoys me is the fact that her every other sentance is "DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT!!!!!!".... she feels the need to go through every concept five or six times in a sitting, and pretty much demands that we all come in to her before-school study sessions because she's certain that we will be mentally unable to learn the material otherwise (the class, myself included, can recite the material in our sleep).

Banned because your math teacher absolutely sucks if she thinks that you are all mentally incapable of learning the material unless you attend her "before-school study sessions".

Excuse me, but what is that "before-school study sessions" ?

Banned because she is a real bitch. The before-school study sessions are something our principal dreamed up in a desperate attempt to boost the school's academic ratings: every Wednesday, school starts a half-hour later, but the teachers (are supposed to) show up at the regular time so that students can come in early and cram. Most of the brighter students and many of the brighter teachers use them to catch up on our sleep (myself included). Ms. Spite, on the other hand, actually shows up, and expects us to as well.

I've tried to determine her reason for being so condescending, and I've come to the conclusion that it's because she's never handled an honors class of any kind before: more people are taking them because the standards have been lowered, so they need more teachers and have begun scraping the bottom of the barrel.
