Isn't She Beautiful?

This is my grandma Anna Bennett

She died, for reasons I don't want to talk about, before I was born.

My mom tells me she was an awesome woman. Thankfully, you can't see that she was handicaped. Sometimes I wish I was born a few years earlier so that I'd have,"Brandon, do you remember when Grandma..." stories for my mom and dad to tell me.

I can kind of relate, I only know a little bit about my dad's father. He died long before I was born, I think he died of a stroke/heart attack WAY too young. I think I get a lot of my habits through my dad from him. Namely, bad driving habits...

Yes, she is quite a beautiful woman, Capt. My own grandmother died when my oldest son was six months old, and it makes me very sad because I know she would have loved my children and gotten so much delight from them. I'm sorry you did not have the chance to get to know your grandmother.

I think it's beautiful that you ponder what it would have been like to have experienced her love and taken part in her life.

Doesn't that suck? My mom won't tell me anything about my grandma because the only things she can tell me are that she's pretty and that my uncle was mean to her sometimes. Everything else makes her cry too much.

Thank you Wahine for the good words. I'm sorry to hear that. You do have good stories to tell your children though, right? I'm sure that, even though they don't always say it, they'll cherish those stories.

Aww....Brandon...don't make me cry again. She's very beautiful! You can tell that you're related, just by looking at the pic. Well...at least I think so. Yeah I can relate too. My mom's dad just died last Feb. I only got to see him like once when I was a baby, so I don't remember, and once like 3yrs ago. So I have vague memories. He died from being an alcoholic. It ate away his liver. My mom doesn't hardly know about him either. He left my grandma when my mom and my two uncles were really little.

Hey Captain, i feel your pain. I never knew my real grandparents either (from my dad's side).

But my Dad's told me all of the good and bad (which turned out being good anyway) memories he had from his Dad (his mum passed away when he was 7, so her memories are a bit blurred). I wish i knew more about my Grand Mother, but i can see my Dad gets a bit sad when he mentions her.

Let the past be the past, enjoy the present

Brandon, she's a beautiful woman. I'm sorry you never got to meet her. My grandmother from my father's side died of breast cancer.

I miss her so much.

Peace,
