Galactic governments

I have an idea for future expansion or games.  How about being able to choose the kind of government for your colony?  For example, a dictatorship gives more taxes but is much more likely to rebel.  Democracy gives faster growth but less taxes. I think it will be fun to be a dictator; levy heavy taxes and spend it on something stupid.

Off topic is across all forums... But judging from your post, you are talking about SoaSE in particular since GalCiv2 already has this option. I would not be to suprised if this feature does appear in Sins, since the next mini x-pac after Entrenchment will be about diplomacy and the peaceful side of the game.

So where should I had posted instead?

I'd recommend putting it in the Sins forum if it's about Sins...

Anyway to address the issue, I see your point but I think it would probably only work right if there was some sort of slowed-down empire-building mode.  Since Sins is real-time, planet ownership tends to change somewhat quickly and I think something like this, while cool, would just add yet another layer of micromanagement to founding/retaking planets.

Sins i thought it belongs to GaCiv

governments are surely a good idea, but I agree that this is definatley something for the empire wide level and not on a per planet basis. makes less sense and creates more micro. in about all 4X games, government type choices affect all cities/ planets/ colonies in your empire.

End of Shadowhal's quote

Yeah, it would make little sense if you have different governments on different planets.  Maybe picked it from the beginning and can't be altered.
