Most people are getting it my friend,i think its to do with all the mines that quickly spring up during gameplay. Hopefully stardock will resolve the issue soon.

I have the same problem. Entrenchment worked just fine for me until i downloaded the new updates for it yesterday.

I downloaded update for Entrenchment and now have had three mini dumps while play a small random single player map. I have had only 3 dumps total before this update and only one of them were in beta 1. I am going to try a few more maps and see if they continue. if they do, there might be a problem.

they said they knew there were a lot of problems with this beta, they just needed to test one thing and then we'll get a new one soon

I don't want to fan the flames too much, but is anyone getting completly thrown out of windows? Since I downloaded the lastest patch whenever the games crashes I get a bluescreen and the machine reboots. Running Vista 64 bit ultimate on this machine. I used to play on a 32 bit xp, but it didn't handle massive games nearly as well. I will try the XP box and see what happens, but if everyone is seeing the same thing I'll tough it out until the next patch comes out or move on to another game.

I also do not want to fan the flames but I am also getting mini dumps and game quits very early into the game.

I also get dumps.

I thought it was first because I have activated DEP (Data Execution Prevention) for all programms,(hardware and software)

got following dump :

Faulting application Sins of a Solar Empire.exe, version 2.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4980f2c6, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00000000, process id 0x11d0, application start time 0x01c983c4262687c7.

I disabled DEP for the program but have now other minidump :

Faulting application Sins of a Solar Empire.exe, version 2.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4980f2c6, faulting module d3dx9_36.dll, version 9.19.949.2111, time stamp 0x470d6db0, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00159cb2, process id 0x114c, application start time 0x01c983ea53827124.

System :

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     E8200  @ 2.66GHz (2670 MHz)
Windows Vista (TM) Ultimate, 64-bit (Service Pack 1)
DirectX version: 10.0
GeForce 8800 GS

Do you have XFire running? XFire causes Sins to give me mini dumps when I have them both running. Close XFire and I can play for hours with no problems.

Disabling Xfire didn't change anything for me, just cannot run neither Sins or Entrenchment since latest patch. :(

Just tested Entrenchment and played a good 1 1/2 hours before getting mini-dump.  I looked at memory usage and game was using 1.6 Gb at the time per Task Manager.  Wonder if the game is using too much memory and that's what creates the m-dumps.  Thoughts?

Uninstalled Xfire, still getting minidump on startup. Thanks for the suggestion though.

My game won't even start, but I have 4gigs of ddr2 mem so wish I could help with this if I ever get this game to start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine mini dumps on startup after a fresh install of the game and Windows Vista Ultimate 64.  Very frustrating.

Yeah i've had that mini dump too, it started after first installing the entrenchment beta, so definatley is a problem there special since the game was just getting really good now, I have a saved game i really want to continue but every time i load it now it has a mini dump. Well if there planning to bring the full retail version out anytime soon then their going to have to fix this big bug first, then I can't wait for the rest of them upgrades their bringing out.

I'm playing on a vista 64bit setup too and I'vegot the same problem, but it doesnt't seem to be a difference between xp and vista64bits. I recon it's a memoryleak. I sure hope they fix it soon, I want to try out the new patch, to see if they've got a better balance. Before I think the starbases are far to weak and easy to build.

Since patch 0.93.006 i get minidumps in between 2  till 15 minutes in game wich cause Sins to fataly crash.

I never had this problem before the latest patch, hope this will be fixed soon.

my experience with the latest patch went something like

install patch for sins and entrenchment (it archiving both games before updating)

run game get notified i had to uninstall and reinstall before applying new patch (WTF?)

uninstall

un-archive latest created archive (the one it just created 20 min before) for SOASE.  that seems to complete successfully, but entrenchment not so much.

try to play SOASE only.

mini-dump black screen of death upon launching SOASE (not entrenchment)

uninstall SOASE AGAIN

un-archive last known good archive for SOASE (1.1)  F entrenchment for now.

SOASE launches fine

have impulse update SOASE from 1.1 to 1.2 (still no entrenchment installed)

have impulse re-download the 96meg expansion (entrenchment)  and install (entrenchment refused to properly un-archive previous entrenchment archives)

create a new separate Entrenchment icon

Launch and play Entrenchment with with friends that have now been waiting over a 45 min to play.

Get 2 hrs in +- and mini-dump as usuall for us.

In short no change seen as a result of new Entrenchment Beta other than a BUNCH more headache. but thats SOP by now.
