Another Bug with Entrenchment

After about 3 minutes into the game, just about the time I get my first fleet ready to take over a planet the following happens.

My computer freezes then I get an error message about a "MiniDump".  The game then stops and I am thrown back to Vista.

I have tried to Uninstall Sins and entrenchment then reinstalling it using Impulse, but I am still getting the same problem each time

and around the same time.

Do the developers read these message boards?  do they come here and answer questions like other game developers do?

any help would be helpful ;)

I noticed that the minidump problem has also something to do with the kind of videocard that we use and not necessarily the new drivers we install for sound or the videocard.  Mine is an 8800gt running on Vista SP1 and it has never crashed with Sins or Entrenchment despite high quality settings with 1440x900 resolution.  What's your rig?

AxeEmall was correct, it's the Graphics card.  I set my graphics to medium and no more Minidumps!  yay!!

Sorry to be a newb, but what do you mean you "Set your graphics to medium"? I don't have a low/medium/high setting in the graphics property screen, just different resolutions I can choose. Is that what you are talking about?

Thanks,

I have this problem on my laptop which has a 7950 GTX there is no reason why i should turn the graphics down. I didnt before if I do then Its programing error that should be patched right?

i think its a programming error,

i have a very powerful laptop which handled the original Sins with 8 players and fully maxed fleets no problem.

now with entrenchment, i zoom into a system full of mines with NO ships, and my comp slows down, sometimes even causes Sins to crash... though then again, Sins entrenchment can and will crash whenever it wants to regardless of what im doing, sometimes it take an hour, sometimes i dont get past the first loading screen...

but im 100% sure it has to be a programming problem, the number of people with the problem and the clockwork nature of the problem indicates as such

Yeah, it has something to do with the new textures. My game allways crashed as soon as a starbase appeared on the screen. Turning the texture quality down resolved the problem :-)

okay, thats good if it works, but still, it if doesnt work, they should fix it or axe it.

and for the record, the program crashes have gotten worse. now its like every 5 minutes without fail like clockwork Sins crashes and theres nothing i can do... makes playing very irritating

This is happening to me too. After 5 to 20 minutes of play I get the same message and then Vista shuts it down. I only installed the update 2 hours ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was very stable up till then. Come on Stardock get this sorted ASAP please.
