I had put a Vasari starbase in an asteroid field once. The base was stationary but the asteroids would float through them.
Not sure if it's a bug, but I wanted to mention it.
Asteroids are purely graphical in that you can disable rendering them. For those who disable them, seeing ships and stations dodge invisible things would feel buggy.
Graphically, perhaps the asteroids could bounce off the shields? It doesn't need to do any damage, but it would look cool.
i could see it getting in the way lol imagine your in a large fleet battle n youve got asteroids bouncing from one ship to another
