Another Poem

Trying hard to close my eyes
Preserving every look on your face
Got to remember everything
Right down to the way you taste

It's all fading so fast
Even the great words that you said
I hope I'll always hear your voice
If even only in my head

I hope to not forget the look of worship
Imbedded deep in your eyes
And the moment when you kissed me
I don't ever want to lose that surprise

Tears fall down, you're not around
Are you dreaming of me
Am I what you want me to be?
Will I see you once more
Or has God closed the door?

I hope I never lose the sense of connection
Like I've never felt before
When you were the same person as me
When my heart hit the floor

Steady now, I don't want to lose a thing
Remember it all, everything you did to me
I don't want to open my eyes
When you're not here for me to see

Now my whole life begins to brighten
You make me glad that I'm still alive
The thought of you somewhere out there
Gives me the strength to survive.
