WinCustomize Forums
After logging in on the home page everything seems alright. Then I click to the forums and I'm not logged there and all the advertisements are showing. When I log in again the ads don't go away. Anyone else having trouble? 
Just above this thread you'll see a message "Forum update, Lots of Goodies'....
When there's an update you typically will have to close/reopen your browser to see the Forum with or without Ads as before...;)
If this persists try clearing your cookies just to be safe, then log in again.
angus, no worries. At least you caught that it was supposed to go into Site Issues. I'll move it over there for ya 
This only works part of the time for the ads Jafo. Certainly closing and reopening the browser won't be required with every log on? I still have the issue with logging into the home page and then not being logged into the forum page. I've tried cleaning my caches and still no solution. 
You shouldnt need to log in every time you come to the forums. Give a look to your client. If you dont see stardock.net cookies then your client is having some issues.
I am having the same issues using IE7. I logged out and cleared all cookies and temp internet files, then closed the browser window and opened new one, then logged back in (front page), no ads on the main page, but going to the forum and logging in (again) I still see ads...no matter what page in the forum I visit. The ads are going even though it shows me as logged in.
I was able to clear cookies and re-login in FF3, with no ads.
Edit: nevermind...I just went back to IE7 and the ads are now gone from the forums area. 
I tried to change my avatar using FF3, but the "Add Image" button wasn't working...it works fine in IE7. Also, I noticed that going to my profile/settings using the link above my avatar on the front/main page took me to the previous version profile (where it only allows 50x50 icons) but using the link above (the gray bar below the search window) takes me to the new version profile.
Once the kinks were worked out, the new forum is great! Thank you forum dev team for the upgrade! 
Thanks Andrew. I got the log-in issue solved with the cookie settings but I am still having ads on the forums no matter what I do.
