especially as they charge an arm and a leg to have the television hooked up in hospital rooms these days... got all sorts of new ways to gouge you... 
yes TV/RADIO by bed was nice but as you say not cheap.

Seeing as it was NHS so everything apart from TV was free don't think I can moan about paying for it , hope the NHS got a slice of the money.
