I copied the TEC and renamed them but where can I change the mesh for my new race without changing it for the TEC as well?

assuming you have created the mesh already, and placed it in the correct directory, then to change what mesh an entity uses you just change the line that reads, for example

MeshName "CapitalShip_TechBattleship"

you would need to change "CapitalShip_TechBattleship" to the filename of your new mesh

i can't find MeshName in the entity file though... is it at the top or bottom?
