Sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day!

So many plans, so little time...

Yosa, it's been a while since I got personal on these pages!  That was your warning to vacate the premises if you don't like to hear about peoples lives!

So anyway, today was supposed to be a wonderful day of fun at the great Islands of Adventures with the kids...had I found where the heck I tuck the tickets away for safe keeping...gosh darn it...all three of them looked at me and shook their heads tut tutting at their poor mom/wife...why do I always do that?! (knocks self in head!) Those tickets expire in two, count them two days!  Oy!

And even had I found them, my little one was sick, throwing up since 3am this morning!  I'm not sure if it was the pool last night or something she ate..we had pizza for dinner and Panera Bread for lunch...anyway, she's been so sick today. I called the 'nurse on call' since the doctor's office was closed today, just in case I had to rush to the ER...after telling the symptoms and having a talk with the nurse, no need for the ER, just some bed rest, and light food, as in no spicy or colored foods.

So we wouldn't have made it, divine providence or just me thanking divine providence as my excuse!  I promised to make up for it though.

Recently my sisters and brothers emailed then called me in a panic.  " Was I alright?"  "Is everyone OK?" They hadn't heard from me by email or phone in almost a month or more?????  I was shocked!  A month, more than a month...really?  I could not believe that!  You see, I'm always the one to keep in touch and I make sure that no matter how busy I am we all know what the other is doing, or at least how we are doing.  I'm big sister, that's my job!

However, when life gets in between and I have to concentrate on those closest to me, without realising it, I don't communicate!  But not just them calling, my friends were too!

Within the next few days, I had IM's and telephone conversations from New York, England, Jamaica and even my local area!  It's nice to be loved!  But I really didn't realise how much I was neglecting my long distance relationships!

I also realised that I've been doing that with JU as well!  Yep, like it or not, there's a few of you I care about around here!  Uh uh...so I've not been reading as often, even responding!  Sometimes I get on and I only have time to read and respond to my writings and one or two other blogs and off I go to the real world!

I have magazines, books, articles that I want to write, poetry that I started and haven't finished....there's just not enough time in the day to do it all!  Between work and family and friends...and here I am wishing I had a social life....if I did, I couldn't handle it!  (yeah right...somewhere I would squeeze one in!LOL!)

Are you able to find the time to do everything you have to do?  That's wonderful if you do!

I know it all comes down to time-management.  Truthfully, I do manage my time well, most of the time, work, family comes first...me later....sad but true.  However, I've been trying to fit myself in more than I usually do and I plan to continue doing so.  Somehow I will get to all those books and write those poems and socialize more!  I will keep up with friends and most of all, I will not neglect me!

Hiya, Donna. :)

Don't get too down about yourself for not contacting your loved ones sooner. Like your title says, sometimes there ISN'T enough time in the day.  It is so nice, though, that you have siblings that care enough about you to worry. :)

That stinks about the tickets.  I hope the stars line up for you and your family soon so that you have a wonderful day out.  :)

Isn't that the truth? I can't believe how fast days go by now. The weird thing is even if the day sucked it still goes by quick. :)

I do the same thing. There's times when I read a bunch of good articles and don't answer none thinking I will have time to go back in later and answer and before you know it it's a week later.

write those poems

You should write something JU Writing Challenges. Remember the more the merrier.

Great advice to yourself. A lot of times people do neglect themselves, especially mothers.

Thx Rose! I didn't find them either!  Teach me not to hide anything from myself!lol!  It's Spring Break for the local schools so I've got to do something special with them this week.

Chris you're right about both!  Time does go too quickly at times for sure!  And the articles do move with lightening speed!

I do write when others suggest, except for the last one, haven't done anything on that one yet..but if I can think of something interesting for a poetry challenge I'll be sure to add it!

I am so guilty of always putting myself last, all the time.  I'm trying to remember that I need to be healthy and happy too!  My world revolves around me being happy and in good spirits, so true!

Awwww, such a sweet thing to say!  I know it too and I'm glad, thanks!

Well said... :)

I'm the eldest of my siblings and I do try my best to keep in touch with them all.  The problem I have is, for the most part, they rarely, if ever, call me and when they do, it is usually because they want something.  I'm not bitter about this, mind you, just telling it how it is.  I also call my parents at least twice a week.  They're travellers and I like to make sure they're doing well.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones.  While I have plenty of things to occupy my day, I don't actually feel like I live a busy life, generally.  But then I don't have children.  I imagine kids take up a lot of time.

I will not neglect me!

Given how busy you are, I think this is the most important thing to remember.

You can manage time all you want, but there is still only 24 hours in a day.

Hope things ease up for you, and we will be here when they get easier.

That is the understatement of the year Mark!  The older they get the more demanding they are!  I love the munchkins though!

Thx Doc!
